VisualMED Systems has conceived, and developed, a "Repository Based Clinical Tool Set that reduces both healthcare costs and the potential for medication error. VisualMED creates modular state-of-the-art expert systems that integrate physician and nursing clinical decision making with data maintained in the electronic patient record.

VisualMED provides a decision support electronic physician order entry system designed for the hospital environment. The system reviews all MD prescriptions dynamically and suggests alternative courses of therapy based on decision trees, which can be modified by individual client hospitals. Prescriptions are legible and dosages are calculated on the basis of individual patient parameters. Doctors find laboratory results easily; charts don't get lost and all members of the clinical team have concurrent access to the same information. Physician orders generated in VisualMED are transmitted directly into the Nursing Kardex. The systems modular nature allows VisualMED Systems to offer functionality for all sub-specialties.

VisualNURSE replaces manual, paper-based nursing data entry and creates the Nursing Kardex, Medication Administration Record and Care Plan. A unique user interface allows individual units to handle nursing duties in a flexible manner specific to their own particular needs. VisualNURSE obviates the need for duplicate charting and verification of formerly paper-based data entry. The nursing workload is equitably distributed through a flexible, system-determined "Acuity Point" score, which allows rational personnel scheduling, and through which, "acuity levels" can be attached to specific diagnoses.
